PASPAC CONFERENCE --- 18TH TO 26TH SEPTEMBER 2005 


Glen Osmond is the venue for the Biennial Assembly of the Passionist Asian Pacific Conference (known as PASPAC) commencing on Sunday 18th September 2005.

Over sixty Passionist men and women delegates are attending the Conference which is being hosted by Fr. Denis Travers CP, Provincial for Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, with the assistance of the Passionist Community at Glen Osmond and the staff of the Monastery.

The first three days of the Conference will be a spirituality/retreat experience entitled PROCLAIMING THE PASSIONIST CHARISM IN THE MARKETPLACE TODAY. The input will be shared by Fr Tom McDonough CP, Parish Priest of Marrickville, NSW, Fr. Joachim Rego CP, Regional Vicar of the Passionists in PNG from 1988 - 2004, and Fr. Gary Perritt CP, Coordinator of Passionist Resources. 

The remaining days of the Conference will be devoted to networking and collaboration between Passionists in the region, under the leadership of South Australian born Fr. Jeff  CP, the member of the General Council responsible for the Asia and Pacific area.

The Father General and members of his Council and administrative team will participate, together with Passionists from Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia, India, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Australia, as well as representatives from England and USA. Two groups of Passionist Sisters, the Sisters of St. Paul of the Cross and the Cross and Passion Sisters, will have representatives at the meeting.

The PASPAC Conference is being organised and coordinated by the Province Charism Team ( Passionists Kevin Hennessy, Tiernan Doherty, Peter Addicoat and Justin Ives ) in conjunction with Cathy Tredrea, the Administration Manager of the Monastery complex, her staff and some generous volunteers. 

For the conclusion of the PASPAC Conference, the participants will join the 6 pm Parish Mass in the Monastery Church on Saturday 24th September, the Feast of Passionist Bishop, St. Vincent Strambi.
