REFLECTION EXPERIENCE

DURING A DIRECTED RETREAT IN THE MONASTERY

Sr. Maria Winancy CP, is one of the Passionist Sisters from Bexley NSW. Sr. Maria, an Indonesian, made a retreat at The Monastery recently. This was her first visit to Adelaide. Sister Maria, who has been learning English for only one year and communicates very well, (speaks also good Italian) is greatly impressed with the peacefulness and beauty of The Monastery.

“Grace in passion”.

At first I was worried about communication because I can’t speak English very well. In my heart was my deep prayer: “Jesus, help me. I want to follow you and work together with you. I very much need your grace and blessings”.

During the retreat I found many new experiences in my life.  In reflection, I prayed earnestly. I continually asked Jesus and His sorrowful mother to help me. I prayed to Jesus “You have called me to share in your crucifixion - help me”.

Day by day I feel many experiences walking with Jesus. Sometimes I am  quite upset, even to the point of crying, but suddenly I feel very, very happy in my heart. I reflect that  I have precious memories. Everything I meet makes me happy and gives me cause to thank God.

I said to Jesus:

                        “Your love is mystery”.

I can’t understand……, but I want to follow you.

I always remember Jesus suffering…., I offer suffering for God, my father… offering  my difficulties in life.

I reflect…. and  reflect more….

I think of the sea:  I think of my life as like one boat in the sea. Now I go to sail … and to sail… long way to destination. I am only a little child ….  at this moment in journey.  In journey to learning Life; learning love and prayer. I haven’t anything but I feel precious to Jesus.

I reflect on my life. I am Passionist Sister. My heart is not mine, because I am not mine. Only Jesus will be mine. I belong to Jesus more than I belong even to my parents and family or to someone else. I  belong to the congregation. Although I have nothing, I have  “Jesus”.

I believe the Lord is my shepherd. I believe Jesus knows me better than I know by myself.  Jesus loves me and helps me to know all the wonders he’s given to me.

I am consciously aware…; I am only instrument of service to God. “Lord, I want to help everyone to see your love”.  I am very deeply happy. Jesus loves me. The Community in the monastery loves me. I  look at “the wonders He’s given to me”.

Thankyou “Jesus”

Thankyou Sorrowful Mother,

St. Paul of the Cross and

Our foundress Mary Magdalena Frescobaldi.

Jesus you always walk together in my life. Thankyou.
